restaurants in the zone riyadh

1.     Catch22 – The Zone Riyadh

The first and probably my favorite restaurant in the zone is Catch22. It’s a great choice if you are looking for a lively and playful atmosphere.

The interior has a bold and electric vibe with a combination of yellow and neon lights all around the restaurant. When you walk into the restaurant you will feel like you are hanging out in a retro American restaurant with a touch of modern vibe.

The menu is just as playful as their interior design. You get options like sushi, salads, burgers, fries, and many other things.

YOU WILL BE SCRATCHING YOUR HEAD WHEN YOU SEE THEIR MENU!

Must Try Dishes At Catch22

This restaurant is all about offering variety under one roof. If you have vegetarian friends they will find some great salads or if you have friends who love light food then their fries won’t disappoint.

Here are some dishes that you just can’t miss at Catch22:

  • Build Your Own 4 Mini Sliders Box (68 SAR): who doesn’t love customization? You get to choose your own sliders and not one or two but four of them.
  • Truffle Up Burger (58 SAR): Not your basic truffle burgers. This one includes truffle mayo, caramelized onions, Swiss cheese, and mushrooms.
  • Nashville Strips (44 SAR): Chicken tenders that are soft and crispy with a touch of fire.
  • Dragon Roll (45 SAR): For those seafood lovers this crispy shrimp tempura roll is a must-try. It is topped with avocado and cream cheese.

Average Price Per Person

You can expect to pay somewhere between SAR 70 – 120 for a full one-person meal at this restaurant.

2.     Also – The Zone Riyadh

If you are after a place that is relaxing and laid back then this restaurant should be on top of your list.

YEAH, I KNOW THAT NAME IS WEIRD.

This restaurant combines comfort food with gourmet flavors and includes things like juicy burgers, ribs, and other special dishes that will totally surprise your taste buds.

THE AMBIANCE IS A WORK OF ART!

The indoor dining is edgy and upscale with dark ceilings and exposed beams that add a rustic touch to the dining area.

Those huge windows flood the place with natural light and the comfy seating will relax every muscle in your body.

HOW ABOUT OUTDOOR DINING?

If you are here on a good weather day then don’t miss the outdoors. Their sleek and modern black furniture blends perfectly with the grey tones of the building.

The plants on the sides give it a healthy and minimalist look.

Must-Try Dishes At Also

The décor and ambiance did impress me but what about the star of the show? Their menu is minimalist just like their décor but it sure has a lot to offer.

  • Short Ribs Lasagna (57 SAR): Classic lasagna but taken a step further. Slow-cooked ribs are baked in their special cheese and sprinkled with oregano. When they say not your ordinary lasagna they mean it.
  • Cheese Ribeye (53 SAR): Comfort food but once again taken to the next level. The tender ribeye steak is stuffed into bread and is topped with melted cheese, caramelized onions, and some mushroom sauce.
  • Mushroom Burger (45 SAR): This burger has its own personality and taste that you cannot find anywhere else in the zone. It includes Angus beef, mushroom sauce, and Monterey Jack cheese.
  • Ribs Fries (49 SAR): A great appetizer or I would say more like a full meal. It includes shredded ribs, mushroom sauce, special sauce, parmesan, and pickled jalapeños.

Average Price Per Person

You can expect to pay somewhere between SAR 55 – 65 for a nice meal here. That’s a good deal you shouldn’t be missing.

3.     Awani – The Zone Riyadh

This Middle Eastern restaurant has changed the concept of traditional dining in Riyadh. When we say traditional food the first thing that comes into our mind is old décor and clay walls but that’s not the case here.

This place servers all the Middle Eastern grills, mezzes, and desserts so good you’ll want to skip straight to them (no judgment here).

LET’S TALK AMBIANCE NOW.

When you step inside this restaurant you will be hit by color and creativity all around you. The ceiling is literally made of repurposed doors and windows.

YEAH, I COULDN’T BELIEVE IT EITHER.

ART STRAIGHT OVER YOUR HEAD.

The bold furniture, playful colors, and that wall art completely makes every inch of the place unique. Your Instagram profile is sure to impress your crush now.

Must-Try Dishes At Awani

Their menu is detailed and you will find all the Middle Eastern classics here with a slight modification to keep things fresh and unique. I loved these dishes at this restaurant:

  • Shish Taouk Combo: This tender grilled chicken with Middle Eastern hummus and some other sides. If you don’t like this then you don’t know about authentic food.
  • Kafta Tomatoes: The kebabs are small but their taste is out of this world for sure. They are cooked in tomato sauce and served with some too.
  • Mixed Mezza Combo: Feeling a bit generous and want to share food? This is a great balance of hot and cold mezzes for a nice meal with friends and family.
  • Cotton Candy Muhallabieh: A fun twist on traditional muhallabieh topped with cotton candy and caramel.

Average Price Per Person

If you only go for a main course then you can expect to pay around SAR 75 – 85 but a full meal with appetizers and sweets will be over SAR 100 here.

4.     Pattis: The Zone Riyadh

Let’s talk about Mediterranean food in the zone. Pattis is one of the oldest restaurants in Riyadh which was born back in 1995.

THAT’S OLDER THAN ME!

The place is definition of modern and minimalist. The natural tones around the dining area keep things classy while the pops of green and blue add a touch of health and brighten up the whole place.

The natural light coming from the windows makes this place feel more inviting and relaxing. I did love the velvet and marble finishing which made this place feel upscale.

I KNOW TOO MANY FEELINGS IN ONE PLACE.

Don’t forget about the outdoor terrace. Good weather plus their outdoor comfortable sofas will make a memorable dinner or lunch combination.

Must Try Dishes At Pattis

You will find all the Mediterranean classics on their menu. They cater to different tastes and diets so there’s something for all those picky friends of yours. My favorites are:

  1. Chicken Mushroom Cannelloni: Pasta that tastes like it was made by your granny with her old secret recipe. It is stuffed with chicken and mushrooms, baked in tomato sauce, and topped with Parmesan cheese.
  2. Lobster & Shrimp Roll: lobster and shrimp in their unique chili sriracha sauce, served in a fluffy brioche roll.
  3. Steak et Fritte: A steak you will thank me for recommending. It is tender, and juicy and served with a side of crispy and golden fries.
  4. Saffron Pain Perdu: A great option for breakfast if you are in a rush. It is French toast but way more fancy with saffron sauce, fresh raspberries, and ice cream.

Average Price Per Person

They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner so prices vary according to the time of day. I went for dinner and paid around SAR 150 for a full meal.
