Riyadh – May 2025
King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh ranked first in Saudi Arabia for on-time departures in April 2025, achieving a 90% punctuality rate, according to the latest data released by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).
The report, based on figures from Matarat Holding Co., measured flight punctuality by arrivals and departures occurring within 15 minutes of scheduled time and excluded canceled flights.
Major Hubs Performance
Among international airports handling over 15 million passengers annually, Riyadh outperformed Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport, which recorded a 78% rate.
Dammam’s King Fahd International Airport topped the mid-sized category (5–15 million passengers) with 87%.
In airports managing 2–5 million passengers, Abha International Airport led with 91%, followed closely by Jizan (90%) and Tabuk (82%).
For smaller airports under 2 million passengers, NEOM Bay Airport delivered an impressive 95% on-time rate, while Al-Ahsa (93%) and Najran (89%) also performed strongly.
Domestic-only airports like Turaif and Wadi Al-Dawasir recorded 100% on-time performance.

Airline Rankings
Among carriers, Saudia achieved an 89% overall on-time rate for arrivals and departures.
Flynas posted 86% for arrivals and 91% for departures, while Flyadeal matched with 87% arrivals and 91% departures.
Best Performing Routes
- Riyadh–Amman was the top-performing international route with a 97% on-time rate.
- Riyadh–Bahrain (94%) and Riyadh–Dubai (93%) also ranked high.
- Domestically, Riyadh–Abha, Riyadh–Dammam, and Riyadh–Tabuk all reached 96%.
- Jeddah–Amman matched international performance with a 94% rate.
