Piatto restaurant Riyadh has been on my list of the best Italian restaurants but I think I haven’t talked about it in much detail.
This isn’t one of those Italian restaurants that just serves some pizza and calls itself Italian restaurant.
The menu, vibe, ambiance and the whole experience here is Italian. They have eight branches by now in Riyadh (maybe more) and I have been to most of them.
To make your visit easier I will give you a complete overview of everything in this restaurant which includes:
- Service
- Food
- Ambiance
Because I don’t want you to waste your money on things you probably wont like. So why wait? Lets see what Piatto restaurant Riyadh has to offer.
The Vibe At Piatto Restaurant Riyadh
When I first visited this restaurant I was surprised and confused.
Surprised because the ambiance is like no other Italian place in Riyadh and confused because I couldn’t choose between the outdoor and indoor dining area.
The outdoor dining area has got a chill, relaxing vibe with greenery and bricks walls around the place.
There’s a fountain right in the middle which will impress you for sure. If you like open air dining you will love this place especially in those days when Riyadh weather isn’t trying to melt you down.
I went with indoor seating because, well… air conditioning. The outdoors is calm and refreshing but the indoors is more inclined towards that premium feel.
You will see huge windows, dim yellow lights and my favorite is that huge chandeliers which will make you feel like you should be ordering wine, even if you’re just here for pizza.
Oh and yeah!
I loved the comfy chairs you could literally fall asleep in those.

The Food: These 3 Dishes Stole the Show
I will be honest.
I went there completely hungry and I wanted to order everything on the menu because I was starving. The menu is massive so I had to stalk for quite some time. I picked three dishes and non of them disappointed me.
Mushroom & Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo: I was hesitant about ordering this pasta because if Alferdo pasta is not done correct it can go very wrong.
BUT
I had to test it. I have to say they nailed every bit of it. The sauce was creamy, fresh and did not feel heavy. Chicken was tender and cooked at just the right temperature. The mushrooms felt like they just got them off the farm. Overall it was a 10/10 experience.
Truffle Mac & Cheese Balls: You guys know I love truffle dishes and I didn’t order this because it mentioned Truffle or maybe…. I did.
This is the perfect appetizer on their menu. You get a nice crunch on the outside and it is filled with cheese on the inside. The serving is decent too.
Tiramisu: I don’t know why but Italian restaurants in Jeddah and Riyadh just nail the Tiramisu. It had a nice sweet and rich texture with the right amount of coffee flavor. I could have ordered and finished another one too.
If you are not into these dishes then I would recommend trying out their Pizza section. The fan favorites in that section are the Margherita Pizza and Steak Pizzaiola.

Service & Experience: Let’s Be Real
I have visited this place many times and to be honest the service is more like flipping a coin. Sometimes you will get the best service and other times you will be confronting a rude waiter.
Most of the times the waiters are quick, friendly, and even threw in some solid recommendations (shoutout to the Truffle Mac & Cheese Balls).
BUT
I had some bad experiences too. You would call the waiter like 10 times and he still won’t give you any attention.
I’ve heard stories of reservations going poof and some confusing promo deals that vanished into thin air. If you ask too many questions which you should if you are visiting for the first time some of the waiters seem to get frustrated.
I guess it’s something to keep in mind if you’re planning a big night out.
Final Thoughts: Would I Go Back?
So, would I go back to Piatto Restaurant Riyadh?
The food and the ambiance is solid no question about that. If you are someone who loves Italian food then this place is a no skip.
If you make a reservation for a big group double check it before going because this issue has been common in this restaurant.
